The transformation of Cowford into Jacksonville, FL, is rooted in the city’s rich historical evolution. Originally known as Cowford due to the shallow crossing of the St. Johns River that attracted cattle herders, the area became a crucial trading post in the early 19th century. Renamed Jacksonville in 1822 to honor General Andrew Jackson, who briefly governed Florida as a territory, the city rapidly grew into a hub of commerce, shipping, and industry.

Jacksonville’s strategic location, deep-water port, and railway connections spurred its development as a major transportation and logistics center. Over the decades, it expanded into a vibrant city known for its diverse economy, cultural diversity, and natural beauty, drawing residents and businesses alike. Today, Jacksonville continues to thrive as Florida’s largest city by land area, blending its historic roots with modern innovation and a dynamic urban landscape.

Inspired by this history, we named ourselves Cowford Logistics, embracing our roots as a small, local company in the heart of Northeast Florida. Established in 2013, our goal isn’t to be the largest trucking company, but rather to excel as one of the finest service providers in Jacksonville. We’re dedicated to strengthening Jacksonville’s shipping and commerce sectors through our commitment to excellence.
